The Journey To The Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) Award through the Pathways Approach

 

 

 

The Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award is Toastmasters' highest educational achievement. It recognizes members who demonstrate excellence in communication, leadership, and service. 

The Journey to DTM with Pathways

Finish two full learning paths (Levels 1–5).

Note: You can work both at the same time. You choose your pace!

Select from any of the Available Paths on the Toastmasters International Website. (Accessible via Basebase after you sign in)

  • Presentation Mastery
  • Dynamic Leadership
  • Engaging Humor
  • Effective Coaching
  • Strategic Relationships
  • Leadership Development
  • Visionary Communication
  • Innovative Planning
  • Persuasive Influence
  • Motivational Strategies

A member must completed at least one full term serving as one of the seven (7) Club-Level officer roles

  • President
  • Vice President Education (VPE)
  • Vice President Membership (VPM)
  • Vice President Public Relations (VPPR)
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Sergeant at Arms

After serving as a Club Officer, check one of two main options to serve outside the club

Options A

Serve a complete term as:

  • Area Director

Option B

Successfully complete:

  • Club Coach assignment

The capstone DTM project requires:

  • Identifying a need
  • Developing a plan
  • Leading a team
  • Executing the project
  • Reporting results

This project demonstrates leadership beyond speech delivery
